OverDrive Increases Check Out Limit

Patrons can now download more books through OverDrive, the downloadable eBook and audio book service available through eIndiana Digital Consortium and provided to the patrons of the Kendallville Public Library and its branch in Rome City.

Now, patrons may have up to ten eBooks or audio books checked out at one time. The previous limit was five. Patrons may also have an additional 10 items on hold through OverDrive, and five Nook Periodicals checked out.

The online service is simple to use. Just click on this link to go to OverDrive. From there, patrons with a Kendallville Public Library card will have access to the main Overdrive site and the site for children and teens.

OverDrive provides eBooks and audio books in formats that can be transferred to devices like iPods, iPhones and iPads, Android powered phones, MP3 players, Barnes and Noble Nook eReader, Amazon Kindle and Sony Reader.

When checking out a digital book, patrons can choose a seven, 14 day or 21 day loan period. All items are automatically returned at the end of that time, so there are no worries about late fees!

Patrons who would like some personalized help to get started using OverDrive are welcome to contact the Kendallville Public Library to schedule an appointment with the Technology Trainer through the library's Book-a-Librarian service. To schedule a session, contact the library at 343-2010 or email info@kendallvillelibrary.org.
