State Park Passes Are Back for 2017

2017AEP__64660.1477428351.1280.1280.jpgDue to its success in 2016, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources has extended its Annual Parks Pass partnership with Indiana libraries for one more year!

The DNR has donated a pass to the Kendallville Public Library, and we have purchased an additional pass for the Limberlost Branch in Rome City. Both passes are available now.

The park passes can be reserved for certain dates. So, if you know you are planning a trip to Pokagon to go tobogganing, call us to reserve a park pass for those dates. Even if a spur of the moment trip to Turkey Run pops up, give us a call. If the pass isn’t already reserved for the dates you want it, then we’ll be happy to check it out to you with no advance notice required.

These passes will save you up to $7 per day on entrance fees into Indiana State Parks. They only cover entrance fees at the gate, and do not elimiate or reduce any other fees charged at Indiana State Parks.

Each pass can be checked out for up to seven days, and can be reserved in Kendallville by calling 260-343-2010, or emailing info@kendallvillelibrary.org. Reservations through the Limberlost Branch can be made by calling 260-854-2775 or emailing info@kendallvillelibrary.org. Information required for the reservation includes name, library card number, dates, phone number and email address. When the pass is picked up, an Evergreen Indiana library card is required to check out the pass.

If the pass is lost, the patron will be charged a $50 replacement fee, which is the cost of an annual pass. Late fees will be assessed if the pass is not returned by the due date.

*Be aware that some state parks do not require entrance fees in the winter, or on weekdays. Be sure to call the specific park ahead of time to find out their policies. You may be able to enter the park free even without this pass.
