Warm Up with Winter Reading Challenges

snowflake.pngPatrons who curl up with a good book this winter will be rewarded for their efforts! The Kendallville Public Library has two Winter Reading challenges, one for kids and one for adults.

Winter Wonderland BINGO for adults runs through February 28.

To participate, adults can pick up a BINGO card at the Kendallville Public Library or its Limberlost Branch. The goal is to get a BINGO in any direction by checking out the items listed, or completed the suggested activities.

Once a BINGO is achieved, the participant will win a reusable tote bag imprinted with a fun image of the KPL building (one tote bag per person). The BINGO also earns an entry in the drawing to win the Grand Prize of a Kindle Fire.

Adults can earn additional Grand Prize entries for achieving even more BINGOs!

The children's Winter Reading Snowflake Challenge runs through January 31. It's designed to help kids learn more about the library's new "topic-driven" collection.

Snow globe reading records were handed out to East Noble students in grades K-5 before Christmas break, but reading records can also be picked up at the Kendallville Public Library or its Limberlost Branch.

Each time a child checks out and reads a book from any category, they can color in a snowflake on the snow globe reading record. When they've read 12 different books from 12 different categories, they can bring their reading record to the library for a prize. Kids can complete as many snow globes as they like, so they can keep reading for more prizes.
